Modifying your zones

OALLEY allows you easily modifying the shape of your zones, to extend or shrink their size.

This can be useful to take specific constraints, or to update a territory repartition.

To modify a zone, go to the map.

Extending a zone

You can extend a zone in 2 steps:

  1. Drawing of the extension
  2. Merging this extension to the zone to extend

1. Drawing the extension of the zone

The purpose here is to draw a zone that will be added to the zone you’d lie to extend. This extension can be drawn manually for instance (see Creating a manual zone).

2. Merging the extension to the zone to extend

In this step, you will use the Merge feature to add the extension you created to the zone you’d like to extend (see Merging zones and polygons).

Shrinking a zone

You can shrink a zone in 2 steps:

  1. Drawing of zone to remove
  2. Removing this zone to the zone to shrink

1. Drawing the zone to remove

The purpose here is to draw a zone that will be removed from the zone you’d lie to shrink. This zone can be drawn manually for instance (see Creating a manual zone).

2. Removing the new zone to the zone to shrink

In this step, you will use the Difference feature to remove the zone you created to the zone you’d like to shrink (see Differencing zones and polygons).

If you don’t need it anymore, you can delete the zone you’ve just created to shrink your zone (see Using layers and organizing your zones).

You now have all the information to modify and customize your zones with OALLEY.
